Fringe’s first ever dedicated comedy venue
So, are you planning on mounting a comedy show that’s: SKETCH, STAND UP, THEATRE, IMPROV, MUSIC or SOMETHING NEW? In 2009, Blue Note will be programmed as a comedy venue during the Fringe. The deadline for applications for a slot at Blue Note has been extended to Thursday 16 October 2008. Speaking of deadlines, don't forget that registrations for the 2009 New Zealand Fringe Festival and applications for Kakano 09 funding are due next Friday 17 October at 5pm.

Please welcome Zelda Edwards as our new Fringe Festival Coordinator. Zelda joins us from TV land and has been involved in various areas of the arts industry as a Producer, Painter and Performer. Her most recent production was Theatre Militia’s Sensible Susan and the Queen’s Merkin at BATS Theatre and Downstage (as part of the Pick of the Fringe season). An expert in the kick ball change dance manoeuvre, she can often be seen dancing around in lycra to 80’s tunes with the Real Hot Bitches Dance Troupe. Zelda is the key point of contact for all Fringe participant and general enquires, so pop in to the Fringe office and say hello or email her with your queries at welcome@fringe.co.nz
Phil Reed returns to the Fringe office in his third year as Marketing & Media Liaison. Phil is publicist about town and a fountain of knowledge when it comes to spreading the word and creating a good buzz about your production. He is also a self-taught expert at getting his mug in the social pages! Email Phil at marketing@fringe.co.nz
Visual arts guru Mary Lane is also on board heading up the brand spanking Fringe Open Studios project. Mary is a practising visual artist and regularly imparts her wisdom about marketing and managing your artistic career. Mary can be reached at openstudios@fringe.co.nz
Intern Annie Richardson also joins us by way of the United States and is primarily assisting Mary with Open Studios and you will also often see volunteer Gina Hansen in the office assisting with the Fringe chaos...welcome to you all!!
